Calcott Cotton Storage

This 100,000 sq. ft. cotton storage facility is Calcot and Revolution Industrial’s largest building to date. The project took 9 months to complete and has allowed Calcot to better meet the demands of mill customers who require early shipments of South Texas cotton.

The largest challenge to overcome on this project was the site’s expansive soil that had a potentional vertical rise (PVR) of 3 1/2″. To ensure a proper foundation, our crews worked day and night to construct a 12 foot moisture barrier and fill the area with 1,117 truckloads of engineered select fill. This process reduced the PVR of the site’s soil to 1″ so that the building’s massive foundation could be properly set.
